Croesor, Rhyd and some of Llanfrothen stands in the Snowdonia National Park. The Park offers stunning scenery and landscape that changes with the season and also from area to area. This really is a WOW factor environment.
The three rural villages form a triangle with the B4410 as their base, and agriculture and tourism is the main economy. Small local businesses and initiatives, artists and craftsmen also contribute to the economy. Each village has its own story to tell but when necessary they come together to support each other. Llanfrothen is the hub of the community and it’s where the shop, the school and the pub is found. The population of the community is around 1000 with 75% - 80% speaking Welsh.
These are not quiet horizontal villages - the terrain alone will not allow that! They offer a multitude of activities away from the busier places. Here you have mountains and rivers to explore, paths and slopes to walk and bike routes to enjoy.
